Nice restoration. I had an old ESSO. It didn't look that good.
I got that pic from a google search.
When I was a kid, sometimes the service station attendant would let me pump the gas into the tank. I felt like a big shot service station attendant!
We had a great service station. The mechanic pumped your gas and checked up on the engine at the same time.
We could get gas a new fan-belt, milk and a grape NeHi for me all at the same time.
Too bad it shut down when he went to prison.
I remember those pumps and also remember you had two choices of gas(regular and ethyl)
"Don't look Ethyl!"
The sad thing is you fellas will get that.
There's nothing sad about remembering Ray Stevens. He was a very talented person. And the song reminds us of days when men cared about what their women were subjected to. Them was the good old days, kid! They're worth remembering.
He had some funny songs and also some very good ones, like "Everything is Beautiful". I'm really not sure that's the correct title, but us older guys will know.
Sometimes I sing Ray Stevens or Tex Williams songs at work. People often think I made them up. It is sad how they never listen to pre 1980 music.
Even though Echo listed that her favorite song was Melt With You, it is really "Hold Tight". She likes the Andrews Sisters version.
