Help, I've Lost My Glasses...

I may have told this before. I woke up this morning thinking about it so I'll tell it again.

In 1957 I was driving truck for J H Marks Trucking Company out of Pueblo, Colorado. There were five other drivers who did the same thing, haul pipe from the CFI mill to oil rigs in Texas, New Mexico and anywhere else it was needed. Sometimes two or more of us went together. This particular time I was hauling a load of pipe to Texas alone. On the route I was taking to my destination, I went through part of Oklahoma.

It was winter time and had been raining. I started out in the daytime but, by the time I got to Boise City, Oklahoma, it was nighttime. The rain had stopped and the pavement glistened each time a vehicle passed going in the opposite direction.(everything was two lane in those days before freeways)

When I started through Boise City, I had to detour around the city part and follow a truck route. That was standard for those days. Just about every town of any size had a truck route around the downtown.

I turned to the right and proceeded at a liesurely pace, going through a sparsely settled residential area. There was no other traffic at this time of night, about 1:00 am or so. The road was wet and the shoulder was very narrow, almost non-existent. There was a small ditch running along the road, carrying off rainwater to some distant destination.

As I was driving along slowly, I saw a light flashing ahead. It flashed back and forth and when I grew nearer, I saw it was an old man with a flashlight. He had walked across a plank walkway that ran from his yard, across the ditch to the road. I could see it was four 1X12s about 16 feet long, two doubled and laid side by side and nailed together to make the walkway.

He was standing right on the shoulder of the road, waving his light at me. I pulled over as far as I could. I didn't get all the way off the road because it was muddy and I didn't want to slide into the ditch. However, there was no other traffic on the road so it didn't matter.

I got out of the truck and walked over to the old man and asked him what the problem was. He had on a light jacket and was shivering with the cold. He said he had lost his glasses somewhere in the house and he was blind without them. He didn't have a phone so he had been careful and crossed the plank walkway and made his way out here to get help. He said he had been out here for quite a while, waiting for someone to come along. I was the first to come along. He asked if I would come into his house and help him find them.

I led him back inside and looked around for his glasses. The house was small, only a single room that contained the living area, kitchen area and the bed. It had a small table with two chairs and a sofa with an end table and lamp. A single light bulb with no shade hung from the ceiling. This bulb was on and it cast a faint light. It was probably a 30 watt bulb at most.

I started walking around the room looking for the glasses. I finally found them on a chair that was pulled slightly back from the small table. I handed them to him and he put them on. He marveled that he had laid his glasses on the chair. He thanked me and offered to pay me for helping him. He asked if I would share a cup of coffee with him or if I were hungry, he could fix us something to eat. I told him his thanks was enough and I needed to go.

He thanked me again and again all the way back to the truck. I pulled off the shoulder onto the roadway and I could see the light from his flashlight in my rightside mirror until I was out of sight.

I still remember how good it felt to help that old man. Those were the days!

God and the US Are Out...

I guess the fat is in the fire. According to Ruth Gledhill, Religion Correspondent of the UK Times On Line reporting the findings of Gregory Paul, the author of some kind of study somewhere:

"RELIGIOUS belief can cause damage to a society, contributing towards high murder rates, abortion, sexual promiscuity and suicide, according to research published today.
In general, higher rates of belief in and worship of a creator correlate with higher rates of homicide, juvenile and early adult mortality, STD infection rates, teen pregnancy and abortion in the prosperous democracies."

This Ruth Gledhill (why do these weird people always have weird names? Gledhill...-come on)is considered by the British as a really go-get-it reporter. And she says he researched this for over an hour so I'm sure he knows what he is talking about.

I must say, this is a bit unsettling to me, being a person who believes in God and His Son, Jesus the Christ. I have always tried to be good and not hurt anyone. Now I feel, to be really good, I must need to stop believing in God and anything else good. (Someone please explain to me how I can be good by stopping being good)

“The United States is almost always the most dysfunctional of the developing democracies, sometimes spectacularly so.”

Maybe instead of just forgetting about God, I should also leave this country since it is supposed to be the worse country of the developed countries. Maybe I should go to an undeveloped country and be really bad. Maybe then I will be good. Boy, this is some tough stuff!

“I suspect that Europeans are increasingly repelled by the poor societal performance of the Christian states,” he added.

I have an idea I'll have to go to a tribal area of South America or to the Pygmies of Equatorial Africa to be really good. Maybe a Muslim nation. They don't believe in a real God but I can't remember them being all that good either. I mean, I don't want to have to blow myself up or set myself on fire to be good.

I tell you, this is really the shits, trying to figure out how to be good and not believe in anything. Maybe I could worship President Bush or Al Gore or someone like that and be considered good. I guess the thing is, though, not to worship anyone is best.

I can just hear God ask when I get to the Pearly Gates; "Jim, have you been good?" And me answering,"Yes, since I stopped worshipping you."
It's just that I can't seem to picture what would happen next.

Screw it! This is too hard to figure out! I'm just gonna take a chance and keep believing in God and keep trying not to rush out and kill, rape or beat up anyone! I hope I'm doing the right thing! Please keep your fingers crossed for me. Thanks!

A Great Day...

The jam session was great! Everyone had a good time and there were 24 people taking turns singing and playing. It took about two hours for everyone to get a turn.

The food was good, too. The only problem with the food was, as usual, most of it was salads and desert and things like macaroni salad, potato salad, pies, cakes, cookies and everything else fattening. But it was all good.

Donna did a couple of songs we had worked on a bit. One was, "I Fall To Pieces," a Harlan Howard/Hank Cochran song that was made famous by Patsy Cline among others. Of course Donna does the best job on it.

I did a couple I have wanted to do for a while. One was, "Begging To You," a song written by Heather Miles and recorded by Marty Robbins. I don't usually do that one because another fellow had been doing it but he wasn't there today.

And I did a song called, "Momma Bake a Pie, Daddy Kill a Chicken." It's about a war veteran who lost his legs in the war. It's actually a very sad song. It was written by Tom T Hall and recorded by Tom T. Hall and Bobby Bare.

Donna and I do a lot of songs that are awkward to some of the other players. They have a rolling type of rhythm that a lot of country players find hard to do.

A new fellow came to the session. He was an old time country player and a pretty good singer. He was down on the singers list because he came in later than most of us. I had been playing a bass guitar but this fellow brought one so I resumed playing my Guild. When the fellow got up to sing, he commented that he hadn't known there were such good players and singers at these sessions. He must have been referring to Donna and me. 'blush'

Ernie and Arlene came and so did Grady. I hadn't seen them since the last time Donna and I played at the senior citizen nutrition center, before Barry died. A couple of folks asked if we would start playing there again now and I told them we wouldn't. They acted disappointed. Ernie and Arlene sang a couple of songs. They are getting better doing songs together.

Grady did some fancy picking with his new John Lennon Epiphone guitar. It's an acoustic with an electric pickup built in. It really sounded great.

Anyhow, a good time was had by all!!!

Jam Session Time Again...

It's once again time for a jam session. This will be the first one we will attend since our son died on August 21st.
I guess this means our time for mourning is over and now our life will go on.

This will be fun. It's Jans' session and she is holding it in a big hall in a suburb of Redding. There is a lot more room there than in her private residence. She usually has it in her house and still will for the next few times after this one.

I'll let you know how it goes.

An Historical Day!...

A short report first:

Donna got back from her mini-vacation. She had a nice visit with the kids. She spent the night with Tracey and had lunch the next day with Tracey and Margaret.(and she saw our son, Lorado and son-in-law, Mike)
She talked with Veronica on the phone but didn't get to see her.

Then she drove to Pleasanton and parked the car there and took the AMTRAK to SF and spent the day with her sister.

Then she went back to Modesto and spent that night with Tracey and left the next morning late and came home.

When she pulled into the driveway, Chico the Wonder Dog spun 33- (or was it 34-um-yeah) it was 34 circles on the carpet like he was chasing his tail, while waiting for the door to open and Donna to come in. He was happy to see her as was I. (but I spun no circles) She brought a present for me from SF; a back-scratcher, just what I wanted! 'yay'

All right, now it's time for the historical part! Mark this day on your calender as the first day in history (that I know of anyhow) that all three California NFL teams, the 49ers, the Chargers and the Raiders lose their games and in that order! 'whew'

My big brother is coming over for the games. He'll probably stay for the first two but leave before the Raiders game. He's 78 and getting to where he doesn't like driving at night.

Don't forget to place your bets!

Batching It...

Well, looks like we're batching it for a while. Chico the Wonder Dog and I have been here for two days now without Donna.

I was kicking back a couple of days ago (I do a lot of that since I retired from my regular job) and Donna walked up to me and said she thought she'd go down to Modesto to visit the kids for a couple of days. I told her to go ahead and to stay as long as she wanted to. So she did.

I think the advent of our son's death on the 21st of last month is still nagging at her. She mentions the other kids more often now than she did before. She wishes we lived closer to them than we now do.

She called last night and described her two days there to me.
The first day, she and Tracey went shopping and yesterday she, Tracey and Margaret had lunch together. And she saw our other son, Lorado. She hasn't seen Veronica yet.

She had called her sister who lives in San Francisco several times, too, in the last weeks. That is usually an @ four times a year call. Today she will drive to the Dublin/Pleasanton Bart (Bay Area Rapid Transit) terminal and leave the car there and take the train to SF and spend the day and maybe tonight with her sister.

I'm not sure when she'll be back. Chico the Wonder Dog finally ate something last night while I was asleep. He hadn't eaten hardly anything since Donna left.

Yesterday I Looked at him, "You'd better eat something before you dry up and blow away."
He looked at me, "You'd like that, wouldn't you?"

I looked back at him,(we have to 'look' at each other because dog's can't talk) "Not I wouldn't. I'd have to explain it to Donna and I sure don't want to have to do that!"
Then he came over to where I was sitting and put his hands up on my leg. He wanted me to scratch his back and massage his shoulders and rub his ear flaps. And I did. I think he misses Donna more than I do.

We'll just have to make the best of it while she's gone

Game Time...

Today's the day for shuffleboard. Some of the older folks (over 70) and I get together and play a wild game of shuffleboard.

It's the kind that is played on the floor, like bowling, only with a stick and a large puck. I used to be pretty good at the other kind of shuffleboard, the kind played on a table. I could hang 'em over the edge!

I went to this one the first time several weeks ago and (did you ever hear, "let the sucker win a few?) won real big (96 t0 17, hi and lo scores of four players) in my first game.
Well, that must have ticked off this old lady because the next time I got blanked. I wound up with 13. Bummer!

Today's gonna be different, tho'. Today I'm gonna really concentrate and cream 'em all!

What Next?...

I tell you, I don't know about this guy. I'm talking, of course, about Chico the Wonder dog.

I left the house yesterday and was gone longer than I wanted to be gone. Anyhow, when I got back Chico the Wonder Dog met me at the door. It was obvious he needed to go outside and not in a minute,-right now!

I let him out and I went on in and left the door open so he could get back in when he finished his business.

I busied myself with something, looking over the mail I think, and didn't notice it when Chico the Wonder Dog came in.

After a moment I looked around and saw a brown spot on the carpet.
"Oops," I thought. "What happened here?" Chico the Wonder Dog must have heard me.

"Hey," he looked at me,(he has to 'look' at me because dogs can't talk) "It was an accident, all right? It's not as if I can reach the toilet paper and there is none outside like there is for those bears on TV; not even a tree to hang it on!"

"Hey," I looked at him, "I didn't say anything."

"You wanted to," he looked at me. "If you hadn't been here, I would have had time to clean it up... I don't care! I'm glad you're here. My knuckles are always red anymore from scrubbing the damn rug and my fingernails are cracked from the damn carpet cleaner".
"You didn't know that, did you? I've been cleaning up after myself and it isn't easy. Any other dog wouldn't do it! They wouldn't have to!" Then he was gone.

I cleaned it up. I had too. I felt like a real rat.
I know-I know...I didn't do anything wrong but It sure feels like I did.

Barry Has Gone To Heaven...

Sometimes we forget what blogging is all about. I read about ten or so blogs this morning and noticed most of them are about the writer. I remembered my own blog, when I first started it, was about me a lot but lately my personal happenings have been over-shadowed by other things like Katrina.

I guess I thought my personal events weren't as important as those of millions of other people. I guess I forgot.

Our son, Barry, died on August 21st. That would have been my mothers' 99th birthday if she were still alive. Barry was 49 years old. He died of cancer.

Our oldest daughter, Rebecca, died of cancer on January 1, 2001. I sure hope the rest of the kids outlive both Donna and me. It's really hard to lose a child.

Donna tried to learn a song for Barry about three months ago. It's called, "You'll always be a child in my eyes." It's a beautiful song, filled with sentiment and emotion, but she couldn't sing it. It was too sad.

This is much harder on Donna than me. Barry is my step son and I loved him but I couldn't love him as deeply as his mother does.

We were both with Barry when he died.

A strange and wonderful thing happened the day Barry died. He died at 12:08 pm and at about 8:00 O'clock that morning, Barry started patting on the side of his bed and saying, "Come on, come on." Donna asked him what he was doing and he said he was calling the puppy. He did this again about a half hour later. Of course, there was no puppy there.

When Barry died, we called the paramedics. They got there and determined he was gone and they didn't have to call the coroner because he had been sick with cancer for so long.

Donna was standing at the head of his bed and I was standing at the end of his bed and the door opened. We looked up and saw a small brown puppy run through the living room into Barrys' bedroom and stop at the side of Barry's bed. His tail was wagging and he sniffed around the bed then he ran past me to the other side of the bed and sniffed around there.

Then the puppy left the room but in about five seconds, he ran back into the room and did exactly as he had before. Then he ran out of the room and left the house.
Then a man came up to the door and asked if we knew who owned the puppy and we said no we didn't. Then they left.

That was too much of a coincidence to be only a coincidence. I think the puppy was an Angel who came for Barry's spirit. There is no other explanation for what happened.

I'll take a day or two off from blogging now to re-think my priorities. I know those people who are suffering from Katrina will go ahead and do whatever they do whether or not I write about it in this blog.

God Bless them and God Bless our son, Barry.

Can You Believe it...

Your Brain's Pattern

Your mind is a firestorm - full of intensity and drama.
Your thoughts may seem scattered to you most of the time...
But they often seem strong and passionate to those around you.
You are a natural influencer. The thoughts you share are very powerful and persuading.

Is the US Guilty of Terrorism?...

"Louisiana's Jefferson Parish is desperate for relief, but parish President Aaron Broussard says officials of the Federal Emergency Management Agency turned back three trailer trucks of water, ordered the Coast Guard not to provide emergency diesel fuel and cut emergency power lines."

Those officials of FEMA obviously wanted the disaster victims to starve of thirst, have no fuel to power generators for heat for their children, babies, old people and mentally challenged persons and have no emergency power lines that might have solved a score of other problems.

Those FEMA officials must enjoy seeing poor destitute flood ravaged people suffer untold pain and anguish. Those FEMA officials are surely having a really good time right now!
I guess it takes all kinds!

And now the military is stopping people who want to help. I guess that's how they get their kicks.

Actually the entire federal system is at fault for allowing the hurricane to cross our border without permission.

And those poor people who exercised their constitutional rights to stay in their homes are just victims of the people who didn't force them to leave.

Aaron Broussard, the president of Jefferson Parish did everything right. As did the Governor of Louisiana and the Mayor of New Orleans. George Bush is to blame for everything, he and his different federal agencies.

Bush should have sent federal troops in as soon as it started sprinkling instead of waiting for a request from the Governor and Mayor like the law requires.

He should have declared martial law and bull dozed the houses of those who wouldn't leave.

He should have ordered Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone to come to New Orleans and 'dis 'all the gang members and hoodlums.

He should have ordered Mother Theresas' Sister to come along to dispense drugs and stuff to people in need.

He should have made Michael Reagan, President Reagans' son come and explain to everyone how lucky they are to live in this great nation.

And he should have forced Oprah to be there so she could cry and make everyone feel better. After all, Sean Penn was good enough to show up in his one man boat that leaked and pretend he cared about something or other. At least he got his picture took.

If all of this sounds like so much crap to you, don't be surprised. I am trying to make it sound as stupid as most of the news about the hurricane disaster-but I'm not having much luck.

It would be impossible to make up something as bad and ridiculous as what I hear and read on the "legitimate" news media.

I'm sorry, folks, there just isn't a whole lot to blame on anybody about any of this; unless you want to blame God and I'm gonna pass on that!

Are Democrats Above the Law?...

Now we'll see if Democrats are above the law. US Democratic Senator Mary Landrieu has threatened physical violence to the President of the United States. That is a crime. Now let's see if she'll be prosecuted.

She was probably just running off at the mouth because she is frustated by the disaster in Louisiana but that's no excuse to blame or threaten anyone, especially the President of the United States.

The sickness of blaming someone for everything seems to pervade this Nation and that is a shame. The hurricane is an act of God. It's a natural occurence that can't be prevented and no one is to blame.

Now, United States Attorney General or Secret Service, let's see you do your job and arrest the Senator for the felony crime of threatening the President of the United States!.

Later...

It's Started...

It looks like the killing has started. What are these people thinking? Don't they know they are members of some nice families? Surely they have wives or mothers somewhere there. Why do they want to kill people who are trying to help them?

We have to face it. Some people are just bad. I hate to see people killed but I'm glad the police were there to protect the contractors. Someone will be sad now because a member of their family was killed. If it goes as usual, they will try to blame something or somebody for the deaths of the bad guys.

You people of New Orleans have to face it. The people who were trying to kill innocent people who were trying to help them are not victims of anything. No one caused the hurricane and no one forced those bad guys to act like terrorist killers.

Hurray for the police! Keep up the good work! Later...

You're Not Doing Them Any Favors...

"To the casual viewer, the situation is an incomprehensible mess that raises questions about the intelligence, sanity and moral worth of those trapped in the city. Why didn't those people evacuate before the hurricane? Why don't they just walk out of town now? And why should anyone care about people who are stealing and fighting the police?

That hard, unsympathetic view is the traditional American response to the poverty, ignorance and rage that afflict many of us whose great-great-grandparents once made up the captive African slave labor pool. In far too many cities, including New Orleans, the marching orders on the front lines of American race relations are to control and contain the very poor in ghettos as cheaply as possible; ignore them completely if possible; and call in the troops if the brutes get out of line."

The quote above is from an article in the Front Page by Errol Louis.I know he means well but are articles like this really helping anyone?

His line about his ancestors who were slaves does nothing, as far as I can see, to help anyone. It only promotes hatred toward people like me who never owned a slave.

Worse, though, in the article he refers to people who are locked in ghettos;

"All in all, they acted exactly the way you could predict people would act who have been locked up in a ghetto for generations."

Do you know what the easiest thing to make is? I'll tell you! It's an excuse!

Any time something doesn't go right for you or something is bad, the first thing some do is make an excuse. And people like Louis encouraging them to do just that makes it easier.

Everyone has a cross to bear but just because it is heavy and there seems to be no way to do it doesn't mean you should blame the owner of the lumber yard.

People are in ghettos because they didn't move out.

It's been a long time coming," Derek Dabon, 29, said as he waited to pass through a guard checkpoint. "There's no way I'm coming back. To what? That don't make sense. I'm going to start a new life."

This man knows what to do. Is he so different from the others? Or did he just decide to stop making excuses and make a life instead?

But what do I know, a dumb Texas Okie from California. Later...

A Little Common Sense?...

"Around the corner, a motley fleet of luxury tour buses and yellow school buses lined up two deep to pick up some of the healthier refugees. National Guardsmen confiscated a gun, knives and letter openers from people before they got on the buses."

"It's been a long time coming," Derek Dabon, 29, said as he waited to pass through a guard checkpoint. "There's no way I'm coming back. To what? That don't make sense. I'm going to start a new life."

Who's Running the Show?...

Where is everybody? What the hell is going on?

How about those gang members who are raping people and shooting at the troops and police?
Who are the rowdies and law-breakers?
Aren't they people who have been dis-placed by the hurricane?
Aren't they some of people who lost everything?
Ain't the gang members husbands, sons, fathers and brothers of other victims?
What're we gonna do with them?

Get your heads out of your asses! Shoot 'em! Shoot all of 'em! Any bunch of scuz-asses who would do that to their own people deserve to be shot. No mystery there!

Here's the President!

"My Fellow Americans;
This is your hallowed leader, President Push. I'd like to give you instructions on exactly what to do about the looters and gang members. Are you ready? OK, Here goes: 'Shoot 'em and kick their dead asses out of the way and leave them to the rats; they're God's creatures, too, and cheaper than funeral parlors..,
pssst...dick, take care of things; i'm headed back to the ranch. i got some dogs that need to be branded.

Thank ya'll and I'll see you later. Have a good one!"

I'm sure glad we got a real man to lead us!

Oh Yeah!?! That don't seem like the right thing to do?...Then come up with something else that'll work better!
Don't bother trying..there ain't nothing else they'd understand!

Some Common Sense For Black Americans...

There is an article in the blog of Craig DeLuzwhich describes two photos of people who have food that came from a grocery store. The caption of each picture describes the people in the pictures. The one of the black man says he is a 'looter'. The one with the white man and woman says they found the food floating in the water and are 'finders'.

Mr. Craig presents the reporter as a racist who calls the black man a looter only because he is black and the white people only finders because they are white.

I'm sure Mr. Craig, having checked on these two separate articles by now, knows that is a lie. He knows that each reporter reported exactly what he saw and knows to be true. Someone put the photos together either accidently, without considering what they might suggest or some racist did it purposely to get exactly that effect. So if Mr. Craig reports this as fact when he knows it is a lie, doesn't that make Mr. Craig a lying racist? How about it, Mr. Craig?

Now my common sense advice for Mr. Craig and every other black American is this:

"Stop being ashamed of being black (There's nothing wrong with being black, it's how you were born) and stop wanting to be white. That'll never happen and, even if it did, you would still be the same person you are proving yourself to be, either good or bad, right now."

Shameful Black Racists...

What a shame that the worse kind of racist would use a disaster such as this latest hurricane to forment hate between the races.

The most racist is Jesse Jackson. He will, at every opportunity, say and do every kind of foul thing to encourage black people to hate and blame white people for their hardships, even this devastating hurricane.

AndRandall Robinson is another cut from the same cloth. He will cry and mourn but only for the black Americans.

And Kayne West. Here is a quote from the Drudge Report:

KANYE WEST ON NBC FUNDRAISER:
'GEORGE BUSH DOESN'T CARE ABOUT BLACK PEOPLE... They're saying black families are looting and white families are just looking for food...they're giving the (Army) permission to shoot us'... Actor Mike Myers asked people to donate... "

At a time when all Americans should pull together, why do racist bigots like these three do their damnest to forment trouble between Americans of different races?

God, give us the wisdom to see these bigots for what they are; demons of Hell whose purpose is to keep Americans hating each other because of the color of their skin. Amen

Our Friends Kuwait and Allah...What a Crock...

Remember Kuwait- the Muslim country we saved from Sadam Hussein in the first Gulf War? I wonder how long we will have to put up with the false god, allah, and his demons like this Kuwaiti official!

The terrorist, Katrina, he says, was sent by allah. His god sent this evil wind to punish the Nation of the United States.

How much longer can the United States, this God fearing Nation, allow the heathens who claim to be people of faith to abuse and denegrate our Nation? Where is the outrage of the muslims who claim to be our friends?

Mr President Bush, it's time you stepped up to the plate and put these backward heathens in their place! They are no better than the worse third world nation leaders who kill and starve their own people.

Muslims are not our friends. This outrageous statement made by a Kuwaiti official, a person whom we saved from a sure death at the hands of Sadam Hussein, proves that.

The koran is the text of the devil. People who read and follow the teachings of islam are disciples of the devil.

All muslims should be removed from the United States immediately.

The United States helps every nation on earth and, in return for our help, we are spat upon and despised.

And our president also acts like a coward by not standing up to the muslim heathen. The Saudis are not our friends. George Bush knows this and is afraid to do anything about it. Thank God (the Real God) he cannot run again for the office of the President. What a disappointment he is to his Country.

Now what do all of you have to say?

Later...

United States...The Greatest Nation In History...then why

do things like this, raping and beating disaster victims happen? And what should we do about it? Should we shrug it off as if it were something to be expected in a disaster situation?

How about the looting that is going on...should we just say, "The looters are just good people like you and me and it'll be all right after this disaster's over?

Let me ask you something; Does it matter who these people are? Should we try to figure out how to keep this from happening in the future? How would we do that?

Maybe we could see specifically who the most are who are looting and next time watch for people like that. 'WHOA'!!!

That sounds like profiling!! We can't do that; it would hurt someones' feelings! (Never mind it might save some lives and property)

And besides, we already know it was all Arab Muslims who killed over three thousand innocent people on 9/11 a few years ago and we aren't allowed to 'profile' them so it wouldn't be right to profile the looters, beaters and rapers, would it?

I'll tell you what we can do. We can authorize our police to shoot to kill all terrorists, looters, beaters and rapers on sight. Now that would be fair to everybody and it wouldn't offend anyone. We wouldn't have Jackson, Sharpton, the American Nazi Party, Unwed Mothers For More Welfare, and the American Arab League on us because we would be taking care of things when they happen without having to 'profile' anyone.

"We can't do that-it would be unconstitutional!"
